Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 101 Near Rest Area Monday
San Miguel, CA (August 5, 2021) – At least one person suffered injuries following a traffic accident involving a semi truck on U.S. Route 101 on August 2, Monday.

According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, the truck sideswiped a passenger vehicle while traveling north on Highway 101. The force from the impact caused the car to spin uncontrollably. Initial records indicated the passenger vehicle almost went into the southbound side of the freeway, in the area near Nacimiento River.
Preliminary investigation revealed the truck continued driving after the collision. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
Meanwhile, the CHP log mentioned at least one occupant from the car sustained injuries as a result of the crash. The name of the victim and the extent of their injuries have not been revealed thus far.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the hit-and-run crash in San Miguel.
