Bicycle Rider, 67, Killed in Santa Ana Crash at Bristol and Edinger
SANTA ANA, CA (June 18, 2022) – A crash killed a bicycle rider at Bristol Street and Edinger Avenue in Santa Ana.
According to an article published by My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the collision at about 8:30 a.m.
The incident began when a 67-year-old man was riding a bicycle south on Bristol Street, approaching Edinger Avenue, in Santa Ana. At the same time, a vehicle was going east on Edinger.
Police said for an unknown reason, the two collided in the intersection. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the bicyclist down on the ground.
Driver Hits Bicyclist
He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the rider to a hospital, where he died.
The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the cyclist.
Officers forced the area to shut down for a time following the incident. The cause of the fatal Santa Ana bicycle crash is still under investigation.
