5 Injured in Santa Ana Crash at Raitt Street and Monta Vista Avenue
SANTA ANA, CA (April 17, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a head-on crash at Raitt Street and Monta Vista Avenue in Santa Ana.
According to The Orange County Register and My News LA, the accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:14 a.m.
Santa Ana police said three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the city. They crashed at the intersection of Raitt Street and Monta Vista Avenue.
Two of the cars involved, a white BMW sedan and a red Nissan SUV, obtained front-end damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
Crews extricated at least one trapped occupant from the wreckage. A total of five people ended up suffering from moderate to critical injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took them to hospitals where they listed two of them in critical condition. The reports did not disclose the names of the wounded parties.
Meanwhile, police forced the corner of Raitt and Monta Vista to shut down for a time following the wreck. A witness saw a driver speeding in the area prior to the incident.
The cause of the Santa Ana crash is still under investigation.
