1 Injured in Santa Barbara Crash Highway 101 Near Las Positas
SANTA BARBARA, CA (September 14, 2021) – At least one was hospitalized after a car crash on Highway 101 near Las Positas Road in Santa Barbara.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Sunday evening. Officers reported the wreck on September 12 at about 6:54 p.m.
According to CHP, two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Santa Barbara. They crashed on the southbound side of Highway 101 near Las Positas Road.
2 Cars Collide
The incident log described the cars involved as a Honda HR-V and a white Chevrolet Malibu. The Honda lost its left rear wheel while the Chevrolet obtained moderate front-end damage upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found one person who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down near Las Positas following the wreck. Officers are still determining the cause of the Santa Barbara crash.
