2 Killed, 4 Injured in Santa Barbara County Crash on Highway 1 Near Orcutt
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (July 2, 2022) – A crash killed two people and injured several others on Highway 1 near Orcutt in Santa Barbara County.
According to an article published by the Noozhawk News, the tragic accident took place late Saturday night. Officers reported the wreck at around 10:23 p.m.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason near Orcutt. They crashed on Highway 1 just north of Highway 135.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced the two individuals dead at the scene. A total of four parties, including a pedestrian, ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Two patients moderate injuries sustained moderate injuries and the other two survived the incident with minor injuries. Medical personnel then rushed them to the hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims have not been yet released. Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol forced a stretch of Highway 1 to shut down for a time near Orcutt following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Santa Barbara County crash is still under investigation.
