Pedestrian Injured in Santa Cruz Hit-and-Run Near Empire Grade and Feather Lane

SANTA CRUZ, CA (October 3, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash near Empire Grade and Feather Lane in Santa Cruz.

The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Saturday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision shortly after 6:30 p.m.

The incident happened on October 2 when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person on southbound Empire Grade, just south of the Feather Lane, in Santa Cruz.

Victim Hit by Vehicle

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Bonny Doon Village Airpark. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.

Medical personnel then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.

Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled the area. They added that the vehicle possibly obtained damage to its right side after hitting the victim.

Officers forced the intersection of Empire Grade and Feather Lane to close following the pedestrian collision. The Santa Cruz hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
