Woman Killed in Santa Fe Springs Hit-and-Run Near Parkmead and Pioneer
SANTA FE SPRINGS, CA (December 30, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed a pedestrian near Parkmead Street and Pioneer Boulevard in Santa Fe Springs.
According to an article published by the Whittier Daily News, the tragic accident took place on Thursday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 6:50 a.m.
Police said the incident happened when a vehicle going south on Pioneer Boulevard near Parkmead Street in Santa Fe Springs. For an unknown reason, the driver then struck a female pedestrian.
Pedestrian Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found the woman left lying on the ground. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon pronounced the victim dead. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the woman and fled the area. They described the car as a sedan or a coupe.
Officers forced the intersection of Parkmead and Pioneer to shut down following the hit-and-run collision. The cause of the fatal Santa Fe Springs crash is still under investigation.
