Child Seriously Injured in Santa Maria Pedestrian Crash Near Railroad and El Camino
SANTA MARIA, CA (October 13, 2021) – A child pedestrian was seriously injured after a crash near Railroad Avenue and El Camino Street in Santa Maria.
According to an article published by The Santa Maria Times, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the collision shortly before 8 a.m.
Santa Maria police said the incident happened when a young pedestrian was walking on her way to school. For an unknown reason, a vehicle struck the child near the intersection of North Railroad Avenue and West El Camino Street.
Girl Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the girl hurt. She sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to an area hospital for treatment. The report did not mention the condition of the wounded party at this time.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if they arrested or cited the motorist involved. Officers forced the area of Railroad and El Camino to close following the collision.
The cause of the Santa Maria pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
