Pedestrian Killed in Santa Maria Hit-and-Run Crash on North Broadway
SANTA MARIA, CA (July 11, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a hit-and-run crash on North Broadway in Santa Maria.
According to the Noozhawk News and KEYT News, the tragic accident occurred late Saturday night. Officers reported the collision at about 11:20 p.m.
The incident happened on July 10 when a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. Santa Maria police said the driver hit the person in the 500 block of North Broadway.
Victim Hit by Vehicle
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the collision. They pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. They are still searching for the suspect.
Officers forced a portion of North Broadway to shut down for a time following the collision. The fatal Santa Maria hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
