At Least 1 Hurt in Wrong-Way Collision on Highway 101 Near Alvin Avenue Tuesday
Santa Maria, CA (June 22, 2021) – One person suffered injuries following an alleged hit-and-run car crash on Highway 101 Tuesday morning, the KSBY News reported.
Officials said the wreck involved a Honda Civic and Ford Focus. Preliminary investigation revealed the Civic was heading south on the highway at about 5:15 a.m. When the Civic approached the area near Alvin Avenue, the driver saw headlights approaching.
The man behind the wheel of the Civic failed to avoid and crashed into the Ford, traveling in the wrong direction.
When medical personnel arrived at the site, they immediately rendered aid to the driver of the Civic. Paramedics reportedly transferred the patient to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
