At Least 1 Hurt in Car Accident on Highway 101 Near Palmer Road Sunday
Santa Maria, CA (June 15, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a suspected hit-and-run car crash that occurred on U.S. Route 101 Sunday evening.
Initial records indicated a two vehicles collided in the northbound side of the highway near Palmer Road. Officials identified the cars involved in the wreck as a red Honda sedan and a silver Chevrolet SUV.
The force from the impact caused one automobile to veer off the roadway. Due to the extent of damage sustained by both cars, two tow trucks were called to clear the scene.
Shortly after 7:20 p.m., emergency teams arrived at the site and rendered aid to all possible victims. The CHP dispatch confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the incident. Pending confirmation, the name of the victim and the extent of their injuries remained undisclosed.

Meanwhile, the accident report mentioned a third vehicle was possibly involved in the collision but fled the scene before police arrived. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
Investigators continue to work at this time to determine several factors surrounding the hit-and-run car crash in Santa Maria.
