Pedestrian Killed in Santa Monica Crash at Main Street and Ashland Avenue
SANTA MONICA, CA (August 7, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash near Main Street and Ashland Avenue in Santa Monica.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the incident at around 2:30 a.m.
Santa Monica police said a vehicle struck a female pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit her near the intersection of Main Street and Ashland Avenue.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the woman lying on the ground. She sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to an area hospital, where she died. Her name remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the person. Officers forced the area of Main Street and Ashland Avenue to shut down for hours following the crash.
The cause of the fatal Santa Monica pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
