Motorcycle Rider, 23, Critically Injured in Crash on Fountaingrove Parkway
SANTA ROSA, Calif. (Sept. 8, 2022) — A 23-year-old man suffered major injuries in a hit-and-run motorcycle accident Fountaingrove Parkway in Santa Rosa.
The motorcycle accident on Fountaingrove Parkway occurred about 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6th, according to East Bay Times.
A driver in a pickup truck reportedly struck the motorcycle rider about 9 p.m. on Fountaingrove Parkway, near Rincon Ridge Park. The rider was thrown off the bike into the roadway, but his motorcycle became lodged underneath the pickup truck. Paramedics transported the injured man to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
Meanwhile, driver in the pickup truck continued driving and dragging the motorcycle with them. Next, the suspect rear-ended a Honda According as its driver was turning right from the westbound lanes of Fountaingrove Parkway. The hit-and-run driver also fled after the second crash and eventually the motorcycle became dislodged from the truck. Finally, the pickup truck drove over the median in the roadway, struck a tree and pole and continued driving for another mile before the vehicle was abandoned.
Police located the abandoned pickup truck and reported that the owner is a 37-year-old Santa Rosa man. They eventually arrested him about 8:40 p.m. on Wednesday night and he faces multiple charges including felony hit-and-run, DUI with great bodily injury.
The crash remains under investigation.
