6 Injured in Crash on Sawtelle Boulevard Near Olympic Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (June 25, 2022) – Several were injured after a pedestrian and car crash on Sawtelle Boulevard in Sawtelle.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and My News LA, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:58 p.m.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in the Sawtelle neighborhood. The cars crashed in the 2200 block of South Sawtelle Boulevard.
Pedestrians then became involved in the incident near West Olympic Boulevard and the 405 Freeway. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found a total of six people hurt.
Multiple Vehicles and Pedestrians Involved
One of the victims, a 79-year-old woman, sustained critical condition as a result of the collision. Two women, ages 20 and 23, ended up suffering from serious injuries.
A 26-year-old woman and two men, ages 70 and 26, survived the accident with non-life-threatening injuries.
Medical personnel then rushed all six patients to the hospital and listed the elderly woman in critical condition. The reports did not release the names of the wounded parties.
Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Sawtelle Boulevard to shut down for a time following the crash. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
