Riverside, CA (August 21, 2021) – Police arrested 31-year-old Sergio Reynaldo Gutierrez in relation with a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Market Street on July 29.

The KTLA5 News reported Sergio Gutierrez got into a verbal altercation with a bicyclist while traveling in the streets of Riverside. When the driver and bicyclist ended their confrontation, Sergio Gutierrez apparently made a U-turn. The man drove back to the direction of the bicyclist.

According to the article published online, the driver allegedly intentionally hit the cyclist. The collision resulted in serious injuries to the 46-year-old Riverside man. Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital, where he sadly died a few days later.

Meanwhile, preliminary investigation revealed Sergio Gutierrez fled the scene following the incident. On August 17, Tuesday, police located and arrested the suspect in the 2900 block of 10th Street. Officials booked the felon on suspicion of murder.

Further investigation on the case is underway.
