Shady Torres, 25, ID’d as Speeding Driver in Moreno Valley Fatal Crash
MORENO VALLEY, CA (June 3, 2021) – Authorities detained Shady Torres after a car crash that killed a teenage boy in Moreno Valley.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department identified the 25-year-old Moreno Valley woman as the suspect in the fatal wreck on Wednesday.
The incident began when Shady Torres was driving a white 2014 Toyota Corolla at a high rate of speed east on Bay Avenue in Moreno Valley.
She then entered the intersection and failed to stop for a posted stop sign. In the process, her Toyota slammed into the driver’s side of a silver 2012 Ford Edge.

The impact pushed the Ford into a residential fence nearby. The 17-year-old Winchester boy driving the Edge sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced him dead at the scene. The Daily Bulletin wrote that the accident took place on May 26 about 3:09 p.m.
Meanwhile, medical personnel took Shady Torres to a local hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. Officers soon arrested her on June 2 for second degree murder and felony child endangerment.
They ultimately booked Shady Torres into custody at the Riverside County Jail for committing a felony while out on bail in an unrelated case.
