Officer Hospitalized After Collision at Fanucci Way and Zachery Avenue Tuesday
Shafter, CA (February 8, 2022) – A Shafter police officer suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Fanucci Way and Zachery Avenue.
According to KGET News, a patrol vehicle collided with a civilian car at the intersection in Shafter. Preliminary investigation revealed the Shafter police officer attempted to overtake a speeding vehicle heading south on Zachery Avenue. While passing, the civilian car turned left and crashed against the front-end of the patrol vehicle.
The accident took place Tuesday at about 6:15 a.m.
When medical personnel arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to the officer found with injuries. The article published online mentioned an ambulance transported the officer to Kern Medical for further treatment and evaluation.
No immediate information was available on the other motorist involved in the crash. Further investigation is ongoing on the car accident at Fanucci Way and Zachery Avenue.
