Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Shasta County Crash on Interstate 5 Near O’Brien
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (November 22, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on the Interstate 5 near O’Brien in Shasta County.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the wreck took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the accident shortly after 4 p.m.
The incident happened when the motorcycle rider and a white Ford F-150 truck collided for an unknown reason in Shasta County. The two crashed on the Interstate 5 near the O’Brien community.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Obrien Inlet Road. They found the motorcyclist who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of the Interstate 5 to shut down near O’Brien following the wreck. The cause of the Shasta County crash is still under investigation.
