1 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Sonoma County Crash on Highway 12 Near Santa Rosa
SONOMA COUNTY, CA (September 5, 2022) – A crash killed one person and seriously injured another on Highway 12 near Santa Rosa in Sonoma County.
According to an article published by the CBS San Francisco, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a Mercedes was going east on Highway 12 near Santa Rosa in Sonoma County. At the same time, a Subaru was traveling west.
For an unknown reason, the Mercedes drifted into oncoming traffic. In the process, the car slammed head-on into the Subaru near Arnold Drive.
2 Cars Collide
The California Highway Patrol said the Subaru rolled over due to the impact of the collision. The vehicle then came to a stop on its roof.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then confirmed that the driver of the Subaru died as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the motorist in the Mercedes for treatment of major injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of Highway 12 to shut down between Arnold Drive and Dunbar Road following the wreck. The cause of the fatal incident is still under investigation.
