9 Injured in Crash at Rohnert Park Expressway and Commerce Boulevard
ROHNERT PARK, CA (April 13, 2022) – A transit bus crash at Rohnert Park Expressway and Commerce Boulevard left several people injured in Rohnert Park.
According to the NBC Bay Area and CBS San Francisco, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 10:53 a.m.
The incident began when a Chevrolet pickup truck was going south on Commerce Boulevard, approaching Rohnert Park Expressway.
At the same time, a Sonoma County Transit bus and an SUV were stopped and waiting to make a left turn onto Rohnert Park Expressway.
Transit Bus and Cars Collide
For an unknown reason, the Chevrolet drove through the intersection and slammed into the transit bus and the SUV. The three crashed just off U.S. Highway 101.
A total of nine people ended up hurt as a result of the collision. One victim sustained major injuries, another suffered moderate injuries and the third with minor injuries.
Paramedics took all three patients to hospitals for treatment. Medical personnel treated the other six individuals at the site for unknown injuries.
The report did not disclose the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the bus crash is still under investigation.
CHP forced the area of Rohnert Park and Commerce to shut down for an unknown following the wreck.
