Motorcyclist Injured in Sonoma Hit-and-Run Crash on West Napa Street
SONOMA, CA (November 19, 2021) – A motorcyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on West Napa Street in Sonoma.
According to an article published by the Sonoma Index-Tribune, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:45 p.m.
The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Department said a vehicle slammed into the motorcycle rider for an unknown reason. The driver hit the victim on West Napa Street.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Ig Vella Bridge and Staples. They found the motorcyclist left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the victim to the Sonoma Valley Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and then fled the area. They soon located the suspect car nearby.
Police forced a stretch of Napa Street to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Sonoma hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
