Several Hurt in Collision Near Old Sonora Columbia Road Tuesday
Sonora, CA (February 9, 2022) – A traffic accident that occurred Tuesday on Highway 49 resulted in injuries, the Union Democrat News reported.
Our sources three vehicles collided on the highway near Old Sonora Columbia Road. Preliminary investigation revealed a 1987 Pontiac Fiero crashed into the back of a silver Lexus ES 300. Officials said the Lexus, occupied by two Columbia College students, was stopped due to road construction on Highway 49.
According to the article published online, an oncoming orange Subaru AWD Crosstrek collided disabled Lexus. The force from the impact caused the Subaru to flip on top of both the Pontiac and Lexus.
The accident took place at about 1:08 p.m.
When medical personnel arrived at the location, they immediately rendered aid to all possible victims. Authorities mentioned the driver of the Pontiac sustained minor injuries; while the woman behind the wheel of the Subaru took a ride to the hospital in unknown condition.
Meanwhile, the two college students in the Lexus both complained of pain to their back after the incident.
Several factors surrounding the crash remained unclear. For this reason, detectives stayed at the site to investigate the precise cause of the multi-vehicle collision on Highway 49 in Sonora.
