1 Injured in South El Monte Crash on 60 Freeway Near Rosemead Boulevard
SOUTH EL MONTE, CA (September 16, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a car crash on the 60 Freeway in South El Monte.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the accident occurred on Thursday evening. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:25 p.m.
According to CHP, three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in South El Monte. They crashed on the westbound 60 Freeway, just west of Rosemead Boulevard.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log described the two of the cars involved as a white Jeep Wrangler and a black colored SUV. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found an occupant of the Jeep who ended up hurt as a result of the collision. They then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Officials did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the South El Monte crash is still under investigation.
