Man, 74, Seriously Injured in Spring Valley Hit-and-Run on State Route 94 at Bancroft Drive
SPRING VALLEY, CA (May 19, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a pedestrian on State Route 94 at Bancroft Drive in Spring Valley.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and NBC San Diego, the accident occurred on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the collision shortly after 5:50 a.m.
The incident happened when a 74-year-old man was walking across the Bancroft Drive on-ramp to westbound State Route 94. He was walking near the Casa de Oro Mount Helix area.
The California Highway Patrol said a vehicle struck the elderly pedestrian for an unknown reason. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found him left wounded on the ground.

The victim ended up suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed him to the Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego for treatment.
Officials did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Authorities are still searching for the motorist. Officers shut down State Route 94 at Bancroft Drive on-ramp following the crash. The Spring Valley hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
