DUI Hit-and-Run Driver in Truckee Crash ID’d as Stephen Andrew Lally, 32
TRUCKEE, CA (April 15, 2021) – Authorities arrested Stephen Lally after a DUI hit-and-run crash near Bridge and Jibboom streets in Truckee.
Police determined that the 32-year-old Truckee man was under the influence of alcohol when the accident occurred on Wednesday night.
The incident happened on April 14 when Stephen Andrew Lally was driving a red Subaru near the intersection of Bridge and Jibboom streets in Truckee.
Police said Stephen Lally then struck a male pedestrian. According to the KCRA News and Sierra Sun, officers reported the collision at around 10:30 p.m.
Pedestrian Hit and Seriously Injured by Drunk Motorist
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the man left lying unconscious on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed him to an area hospital for treatment of severe head injury. His name and condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Lally did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. They soon located and arrested him on felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
Authorities took him into the Nevada County Jail and held him under a $75,000 bond. The DUI hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
