Steve Leon, 22, Killed in Paso Robles Hit-and-Run Near Meadowlark and Deer Spring
PASO ROBLES, CA (July 4, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash killed Steve Leon near Meadowlark Road and Deer Spring Drive in Paso Robles.
Police identified the 22-year-old Paso Robles man as the victim in the fatal accident which occurred on Saturday.
The incident began when a gray vehicle hit Steve Leon near Meadowlark Road and Deer Spring Drive in Paso Robles. The driver continued and fled eastbound on Meadowlark.
Police said a black BMW going south then ran over Steve Leon who ended up on the ground after the initial impact. The BMW also failed to stop to render aid to the pedestrian and left the area.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim lying unresponsive in the roadway as a result of the collision. He died at the scene,
The Tribune and Paso Robles Daily News wrote that the hit-and-run crash took place at about 1:40 a.m. Meanwhile, police later located the BMW in the 900 block of Running Stag Way at around 4 a.m.
Authorities soon arrested its driver, 32-year-old Christopher Winters, on suspicion of felony hit-and-run. They booked the Paso Robles resident at the San Luis Obispo County Jail with a bail set at $50,000.
