Suspected Street Racing Ends in Collision Near Hammer Lane Offramp Saturday
Stockton, CA (November 27, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway Saturday evening.
Initial records indicated two vehicles collided in the northbound side of the freeway near the Hammer Lane offramp.

Shortly after 7:20 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders found a red sedan slammed against the center divider wall. Due to the force from the impact, at least one occupants in the red sedan suffered serious injuries. Officials said the victim broke both their legs as a result of the crash. An ambulance rushed the victim to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Meanwhile, preliminary investigation revealed the sedan was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the accident. Officials mentioned the car was possibly racing against one or more drivers traveling on the freeway.
Authorities mentioned the other motorist involved in the alleged street race did not stop after the crash. Given that, detectives continue to work to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
Further investigation on the car accident on Intestate 5 near Hammer Lane is underway.
