Officer Hospitalized After Suspected DUI Collision at Highway 12 and Emperor Drive
Suisun City, CA (January 4, 2022) – A Suisun City police officer suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Highway 12 and Emperor Drive Monday evening.
The CBS News reported the officer responded to the intersection to investigate a suspected DUI crash. While investigating the incident, an oncoming vehicle failed to avoid and struck the patrol vehicle. Per local news source, at least one officer was inside the police car when the accident happened.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. First responders rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the evaluation, authorities mentioned the officer required treatment at the hospital due to his condition.
Preliminary investigation revealed the injured officer was blocking traffic with their emergency lights flashing. Additional details on the incident have not been discussed thus far.
