Susan Jevarian, 20, ID’d as Suspect in Napa DUI Crash on Highway 29
NAPA, CA (July 24, 2022) – Authorities detained Susan Jevarian after a DUI crash injured several people on Highway 29 in Napa.
Officers determined that the 20-year-old San Francisco woman was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck happened on Saturday.
The incident began when Susan Burnham Jevarian was driving a 1988 Cadillac south on northbound Highway 29 in Napa. At the same time, a 2003 Toyota and a 2021 Tesla were going north.
She then approached the other two vehicles near the Imola Avenue (Highway 121) interchange in Napa. In the process, she clipped the Toyota in the left lane.
The California Highway Patrol said her car spun out of control into the right lane where the Tesla was traveling. The two then collided.
5 Injured in Wreck
The Napa Valley Register wrote that the accident occurred on July 23 at about 10:10 p.m. A female passenger in the speeding vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.
The driver of the Toyota, a 56-year-old Napa man, survived with minor injuries. Paramedics rushed patients to the Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center for treatment.
three people riding the Tesla obtained minor injuries following the wreck. The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, Susan Jevarian ended up ejected from her car as a result of the crash. A helicopter took her to the Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center with moderate injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP arrested Susan Jevarian on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury. They soon booked her into the Napa County jail. The Napa DUI crash is still under investigation.
