
2 Killed in Sutter County Crash on Highway 99 Near Oswald Road
SUTTER COUNTY, CA (April 28, 2023) – A crash killed two people on Highway 99 near Oswald Road in Sutter County.
According to The Sacramento Bee and ABC 10 News, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the wreck on April 26 shortly after 8:30 p.m.
The incident happened when a 2016 Toyota Tacoma was going north on Highway 99, south of Oswald Road, in Sutter County. At the same time, a 2016 Toyota Rav4 was traveling south.
2 Cars Collide
For an unknown reason, the pickup truck crossed into oncoming traffic. The California Highway Patrol said the car then slammed head-on into the SUV.
Paramedics arrived and pronounced the 74-year-old Brentwood man driving the Tacoma and the driver of the RAV4, a 69-year-old Yuba City woman, dead at the scene.
The names of the deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal Sutter County crash is still under investigation.
Officers the southbound lanes of Highway 99 to shut down for about two hours near Oswald following the wreck.
