Suspect Injured After Collision on Highway 101 Near Wadsworth Avenue Saturday
Pismo Beach, CA (January 16, 2022) – Police arrested 55-year-old Tammy Silkwood in relation with a DUI crash that occurred on Highway 101 on January 15.
According to KSBY News, Silkwood was driving a vehicle heading south on Highway 101. The woman lost control of hear Honda Accord as she approached Wadsworth Avenue in Pismo Beach.
Officials said the car ended up slamming into the guardrail in the center median. The Honda Accord continued moving and drove down the embankment before hitting a tree of the highway.
Shortly after 9:15 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found two passengers with injuries.
Tammy Silkwood Arrested in Pismo Beach DUI Car Crash
Authorities mentioned Tammy Silkwood also sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. Emergency crews transported the driver to the hospital for treatment. After she was medically clear, police arrested her for DUI following the injury car crash.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
