Thomas Boots, 43, Seriously Injured in Monterey County Crash at Jolon and Mission
MONTEREY COUNTY, CA (June 13, 2022) – A fatal crash left Thomas Boots seriously injured at Jolon and Mission roads in Monterey County.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 43-year-old Hughson man as the victim of the wreck which took place on Monday morning.
The incident happened when Thomas Boots III was driving a Honda Civic south on Jolon Road in Monterey County. At the same time, a Toyota Corolla was traveling north.
CHP said the driver of the Toyota, 45-year-old Mary Lee, veered into the southbound lane for an unknown reason. The Fresno woman then slammed head-on into the Honda.
4 Killed in Wreck
The KION News and The Fresno Bee wrote that the accident occurred at about 6:20 a.m. Thomas Boots ended up trapped inside his car as a result of the crash.
Firefighters arrived and freed him from the wreckage. An air ambulance took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The three passengers of the Corolla died at the scene. Officers named them as Pa Vue, 36; Xiong Lee, 44, both from Fresno and Malisa Moua, 52, of Merced.
Meanwhile, paramedics rushed Mary Lee to a hospital where they pronounced her dead. The cause of the Monterey County crash is still under investigation.
