Child, 7, Dies at Hospital After Car Crash on 10 Freeway Sunday
Thousand Palms, CA (June 13, 2021) – A 7-year-old child suffered fatal injuries following a car accident on Interstate 10 Freeway early Sunday morning.
The Desert Sun reported the juvenile was a passenger traveling at an unknown direction on the freeway. When the car approached the area near Monterey Avenue offramp, its tire blew up. The driver then lost control and crashed on the interstate in Thousand Palms

Shortly after 1:52 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the location and rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. Officials later confirmed a 7-year-old passenger in the car suffered serious injuries from the collision. An ambulance rushed the patient to Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, where they later sadly died.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly car accident in Thousand Palms happened.
