1 Seriously Injured in Tracy Crash on Eastbound Interstate 580
TRACY, CA (April 29, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a car crash on the Interstate 580 in Tracy.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 5:15 a.m.
The report log said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason. They crashed on the eastbound side of the Interstate 580, just east of South Bird Road, in Tracy.

CHP described the two as a white Ford transit van and a blue colored 4-door sedan. The smaller car went off 10 feet off the roadway upon impact.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found one vehicle with major damage. They attended to one individual who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
An air ambulance then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. Officials did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the eastbound I-5 to shut down for more than two hours following the wreck. Authorities are still determining the cause of the Tracy crash.
