Truck Overturns in Multi-Vehicle Head-on Crash
SANTA ANA, Calif. (April 23, 2024) — A multi-vehicle traffic accident involving an overturned box truck happened Tuesday on the northbound Costa Mesa 55 Freeway in Santa Ana.
The collision occurred at around 1:14 A.M. on April 23rd, just north of MacArthur Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The driver of a white Ford Aeromax box truck reportedly crossed over from the southbound to the northbound side of the 55 Freeway and overturned onto its side. The 30-foot box truck, loaded with coffee items, collided with an OCTA bus that also overturned onto its side as well as a Tesla and a white Nissan Altima.
Paramedics responded to help those injured in the collision, but there are no further details at this time.
Police issued a SigAlert due to the collision.
Investigators are working on the case to determine fault for the truck accident on the 55 Freeway.
