Car and Truck Collision on 80 Freeway Monday
Truckee, CA (October 22, 2021) – Injuries were reported following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Interstate 80 Freeway on October 18, Monday.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a white semi truck with a cattle trailer collided with another vehicle in the eastbound side of the freeway. Officials briefly described the other car involved in the wreck as a black Nissan Frontier.

Rescue teams arrived at the location shortly after 12:08 a.m. First responders reportedly found one person bleeding from his head. Paramedics attended to the victim, then transported him to the hospital for treatment. The name of the patient and their condition at this time remained unknown.
The CHP log mentioned the truck driver fled the scene after the incident. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the crash in Truckee happened.
