2 Killed in Tujunga Crash on 210 Freeway Near La Tuna Canyon Road
TUJUNGA, CA (May 16, 2022) – A crash killed two people on the 210 Freeway near La Tuna Canyon Road in Tujunga.
According to the CBS Los Angeles and KTLA News, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 4:30 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said for an unknown reason a car hit the back of a big rig in Tujunga. The two crashed on the westbound 210 Freeway, just east of La Tuna Canyon Road offramp.
Car Hits Big Rig
The car ended up wedged underneath the rear of the semi-truck as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and soon pronounced two individuals dead at the scene.
The names of the deceased parties have not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. CHP did not mention if any other person ended up hurt following the wreck.
Meanwhile, officers forced the westbound lanes of the 210 Freeway to shut down near La Tuna after the incident. The cause of the fatal Tujunga crash is still under investigation.
