Deputy Hospitalized After Police Chase Ends in Collision on Olive Avenue
Lindsay, CA (March 5, 2022) – A Tulare police officer suffered injuries following a car accident that occurred on Olive Avenue Saturday.
The ABC30 News reported an officer spotted a car with the description that matched a stolen vehicle out of Fresno. According to the article published online, the officer attempted to pull over the driver.
However, the woman behind the wheel of the allegedly stolen vehicle failed to yield and drove away at a high rate of speed. Given that, police launched a pursuit on the suspect.
Our sources indicated the chase made its way into Lindsay. When the suspect vehicle approached a stop sign on Olive Avenue, she disregarded it and ran against the sign. The suspect vehicle ended up crashing into a marked patrol car.
Authorities said the force from the impact knocked off the officer. Responding paramedics rushed the unconscious officer to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Personal information on the injured sergeant remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
No immediate information was available on the woman driving the allegedly stolen vehicle. At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the car crash on Olive Avenue.
