Woman Trapped, Injured After Collision on Highway 139 Wednesday
Tulelake, CA (September 15, 2021) – A traffic accident involving a semi truck occurred Wednesday evening on U.S. Route 139, also known as Lava Beds Highway.

The California Highway Patrol group reported the big rig crashed head-on into two other vehicles on US-139. Officials said the collision took place on the freeway in front of Caption Jack’s Stronghold restaurant.
CHP logged the incident at approximately 7:35 p.m.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found a woman trapped in the passenger vehicle. Rescue teams successfully extricated the victim, then paramedics checked her condition. Authorities confirmed the female party sustained moderate injuries as a result of the crash.
An ambulance was called to the scene to assist.
Several factors surrounding the car and truck accident in Tulelake remained unclear. Given that, detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly what happened here and why.
