Ulises Gonzalez, 21, Killed in Fontana Crash on Mulberry Avenue
FONTANA, CA (February 1, 2023) – Ulises Gonzalez was killed after a car crash on Mulberry Avenue in Fontana.
The coroner’s office identified the 21-year-old Fontana woman as the victim in the fatal wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Ulises Gonzalez was riding as a passenger in a Honda Civic going south Mulberry Avenue in Fontana. At the same time, a tractor-trailer was parked on the west side of the road.
Police said the male driver of the tractor tried to go northbound and then made an illegal U-turn across lanes of traffic. In the process, the Honda went underneath the rear of the trailer.
1 Seriously Injured in Wreck
The two vehicles crashed in the 11160 block of Mulberry Avenue. The Fontana Herald News wrote that the collision occurred on January 30 at about 1:14 p.m.
Ulises Gonzalez died at the scene of the crash. The 21-year-old driver of the Civic sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Paramedics rushed the patient to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment. Officers added that the operator of the tractor ended up unharmed and stayed at the site following the wreck.
Police forced a portion of Mulberry Avenue to shut down for a time after the incident. The cause of the Fontana crash is still under investigation.
