Valdemar Ajpop, 34, Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Wheeler Ridge Road
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 3, 2022) – Valdemar Ajpop was killed after a car crash on Wheeler Ridge Road in Bakersfield.
The coroner’s office identified the 34-year-old Frazier Park man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place last week on Tuesday.
The incident happened when Valdemar Ajpop was driving a 2008 Honda south on Wheeler Ridge Road in Bakersfield. At the same time, a 2017 Acura was going north.
The driver of the Acura, 28-year-old Richard Nunez Sioson, then drifted into the southbound lane for an unknown reason. In the process, the San Diego man slammed head-on into the Honda.
Woman, 3 Children Injured in Head-On Collision
The California Highway Patrol said the two cars crashed north of Valpredo Avenue. The Bakersfield Now and Kern Golden Empire wrote that the collision occurred on December 28 at about 10:19 p.m.
Both Valdemar Ajpop and Richard Sioson died at the scene of the crash. The four passengers of the Honda ended up hurt as a result of the accident.
Paramedics rushed them to the Kern Medical hospital for treatment of major injuries. CHP described the wounded victims as a 35-year-old woman and three children, ages 3, 5 and 9.
The reports did not disclose the names of all four patients and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the cause of the Bakersfield crash is still under investigation.
