Man Fatally Struck by Vehicle Near Sonoma Boulevard Offramp
Vallejo, CA (March 9, 2023) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 80 Freeway early Thursday morning, March 9.
The San Francisco Chronicle News reported an individual attempted to cross the eastbound lanes of the freeway near the Sonoma Boulevard offramp. While in the roadway, multiple passing vehicles struck the man. Officials added the horrible crash took place near Carquinez Bridge toll plaza.
Pedestrian Killed in Vallejo Accident on Interstate 80
Shortly after 4 a.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to the victim found lying on the ground. Despite life-saving efforts performed by medical personnel, the pedestrian sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the drivers involved in the unfortunate incident. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly accident that happened on Interstate 80 in Vallejo.
