Cyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Channel Street
Venice, CA (March 4, 2023) – One person died following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on Pacific Avenue on March 4, Saturday.
According to My News LA and CBS News, a bicyclist was riding north on Pacific Avenue around 12:40 a.m. When the cyclist approached the area near Channel Street, they were struck by a vehicle also traveling north on Pacific. The force from the impact ejected the victim from his bike.
Fatal Bicycle Accident in Venice
Emergency crews later arrived at the scene and found the cyclist suffering in serious injuries. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the victim sadly succumbed to their injuries and died before being taken to a hospital. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The news articles published online mentioned the driver involved in the horrible crash fled the scene. No immediate information was available on the hit-and-run suspect.
At this time, the Los Angeles Police Department’s South Traffic Division continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the deadly accident that happened on Pacific Avenue in Venice.
