Pedestrian Critically Injured in Ventura Crash at Thompson and Figueroa
VENTURA, CA (November 28, 2021) – A pedestrian was critically injured after a crash at Thompson Boulevard and Figueroa Street in Ventura.
According to an article published by the KVTA News, the accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the collision shortly after 6 p.m.
The incident happened when a female pedestrian was walking eastbound on the north sidewalk in the 200 block of Thompson Boulevard at Figueroa Street.
Ventura police said at the same time, a vehicle was backing out of a parking lot. In the process, the driver struck the 74-year-old woman and knocked her down to the ground.

The victim ended up pinned underneath the vehicle as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then rescued her.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. They soon listed her in critical condition.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party. Meanwhile, police forced the area of Thompson and Figueroa to shut down following the collision.
Officers added that the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the woman. The cause of the Ventura pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
