1 Injured in Walnut Creek Hit-and-Run on Interstate 680 Near Rudgear Road
WALNUT CREEK, CA (December 2, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured at least one person on the Interstate 680 near Rudgear Road in Walnut Creek.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Wednesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 5:26 p.m.
The incident happened on December 1 when three vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Walnut Creek. They crashed on the southbound Interstate 680 near Rudgear Road.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The incident log described the two of the cars as a silver Toyota Camry and a silver BMW sedan. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found one victim hurt as a result of the collision. They then provided treatment to the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident.
The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the driver of the third vehicle did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Officers forced the southbound lanes of the Interstate 680 to shut down near Rudgear following the wreck. The cause of the Walnut Creek hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
