Rider Hospitalized After Collision on Forest Service Road 28N03
Quincy, CA (June 1, 2022) – Walter Bunning, a 74-year-old Santa Maria resident, suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Forest Service Road 28N03.
Auto vs. Motorcycle Accident in Quincy
The Plumas News published an article online reporting a collision between two motorcyclists. On May 28, Bunning was driving his 2020 BMW motorcycle heading north on Forest Service Road 28N03. Preliminary investigation revealed Bunning was unable to slow down as he approached traffic stopped ahead. Given that, Bunning crashed into a 2005 BMW motorcycle driven by 65-year-old Wynne Benti.
The force from the impact caused Benti to fall off her motorbike. On the other hand, Bunning continued northbound until his motorcycle overturned.
Shortly after 1 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the location. Responding paramedics found Bunning ejected onto the roadway and with major injuries. Due to his condition, medical personnel decided request a helicopter to transport Walter Bunning to Renown Medical Center.
Officials mentioned Wynne Benti appeared unharmed after the incident.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the motorcycle crash in Quincy.
