1 Injured in Watsonville DUI Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 129 Near Lakeview
WATSONVILLE, CA (October 6, 2021) – At least one was injured after a DUI hit-and-run crash on Highway 129 near Lakeview Road in Watsonville.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident on Monday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 8:23 p.m.
The incident happened on October 4 when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Watsonville. They crashed on westbound Highway 129, just east of Lakeview Road.
One car obtained major damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Interlaken area.
2 Vehicles Collide
Medical personnel found one person hurt as a result of the collision. They provided aid to the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP added that a driver involved did not stop to help and fled the area.
They believed that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol when the wreck happened. Officers forced westbound Highway 129 to shut down near Lakeview following the collision.
The Watsonville hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
