Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Watsonville Crash on Harkins Slough Road
WATSONVILLE, CA (June 19, 2021) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash on Harkins Slough Road in Watsonville.
According to an article published by The Pajaronian, the accident took place on Saturday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 3:30 p.m.
The incident began when a man was riding a Suzuki motorcycle south on Harkins Slough Road in Watsonville. At the same time, a Jeep SUV was traveling on Sunset Vista Drive.
The male driver of the Jeep then tried to turn left onto Ohlone Parkway and pulled into the path of the motorcyclist. In the process, the rider collided with driver’s side of the SUV.

Police said the man and his motorcycle ended up pinned beneath the car as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon extricated the victim.
An air ambulance took him to an out-of-county trauma center for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not release his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the man driving the Jeep sustained any wound upon impact. Officers forced Harkins Slough Road to close for about an hour following the wreck.
Authorities are still determining the cause of the Watsonville crash.
