Wayne Marshall Jr., 44, Killed in East Oakland Hit-and-Run on International Boulevard
OAKLAND, CA (February 13, 2022) – Wayne Marshall Jr. was killed after a hit-and-run crash on International Boulevard in the East Oakland neighborhood.
The coroner’s office identified the 44-year-old Oakland man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place last year.
The incident happened when Wayne Marshall Jr. was riding a scooter and crossing the 8500 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland.
Police said for an unknown reason, a vehicle struck him. The East Bay Times wrote that the accident occurred on October 2, 2021 at about 11:57 a.m.
Driver Hits Scooter Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the rider down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died on Sunday. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area.
Officers are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect who left Wayne Marshall Jr. in the roadway. The cause of the fatal Oakland hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
