Several Injured in Weed Crash on Interstate 5 Near Edgewood Road
SISKIYOU COUNTY, CA (September 20, 2022) – Several were hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 5 and Edgewood Road near Weed.
According to an article published by the Action News Now, the accident took place early Tuesday. Officers reported the wreck shortly after midnight.
The incident happened when two big rigs and a small car collided for an unknown reason just north of Weed in Siskiyou County. The California Highway Patrol said the three vehicles crashed on the southbound Interstate 5 near Edgewood Road.
Big Rigs and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene. They found multiple patients who ended up hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victims to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 to shut down near Edgewood for hours following the wreck. The cause of the Weed crash is still under investigation.
